CHEO didn't just save my life; they made it worth living again. I found people who truly understood what I was going through, and that changed everything. Now I know I'm never alone, and I want other kids to know that too.

Program overview

New Program for 2026: Integrated Treatment Centre (ITC)

The ITC opening in 2028 will bring CHEO’s outpatient mental health services together under one roof creating spaces that actively support healing, improving how programs are delivered, and making it easier for young people to access care. It also brings peer support into the heart of the clinical setting, helping children and youth feel more connected and understood.

How Family of Support Funding Has Helped

Funds provided by Family of Support have helped to:

  • Gain the flexibility to adopt a new evidence based intervention (H2T)
  • Extend the benefits of dialectical behavioural therapy beyond the hospital and into the community
  • Expand the hours during which mental health support is available in the ED.
  • Support the equipment and furnishings needed to create flexible, sensory-informed environments
  • Provide staff training so care teams can make the most of these spaces
  • Help teams deliver responsive, effective treatment from day one
